About Christina

I walked out of my secure, well-paid corporate job at age 36.

The two main questions I always get asked when I tell people that are…

Why? and Weren’t you absolutely terrified, Christina?

The answer is yes. I was scared. But, I hadn’t been feeling fulfilled or satisfied in my work for such a long time, I felt stuck, disillusioned and burned out.

My career journey started in Human Resources because I love working with people, listening to their stories, learning about their lives and helping with their careers. The problem with my starry-eyed view of the corporate world was that in the end I was serving the best interests of the business – not the individual.

Eventually I realised I had to make a change. I wanted to support people in their careers and, ultimately, their lives. I knew I needed to find a way to combine my skills and use them in a way that directly impacted people in the workplace, which is where my own journey of personal development began.

In 2017 The Development Coach was born. After several years, and many coaching qualifications, I now provide a dedicated space for high-performing and ambitious people to work with purpose and define their unique growth journeys.

I’ll hold you to account but, more importantly, I’ll guide you to rethink what it is you want from your career, and ultimately, your life.

More about me…

I've dedicated my entire career to helping others. With over 18 years people experience, I know how to support individuals not only navigate the professional career landscape but be brave to work with purpose in a meaningful way to who they are.

Outside of work, you can find me travelling with my husband and son Harrison and exploring all things food, art and books. I’m currently reading Brene Brown Atlas of the Heart. One of my other favourite past times is exploring new bookshops. So it makes sense that one of the Chinese proverbs that resonates with me is that “a book is like a garden in the pocket”.

My current book recommendation for parents whose children love reading is the Bookshop Cat by Cindy Wume.

Not knowing what’s next is not a failure. Recognising that we don’t have all the answers is the beginning of discovery and the beginning of change.

That’s why, right from our initial 30-minute discovery call, I’ll work with you to create a trusted, safe space to explore your fears, goals and current situation.

Using person-centric coaching methodology and frameworks, we will build a bespoke coaching plan to help you achieve your goals. You’ll feel empowered and more confident about your next steps, whether that’s making a career transition or stepping fully into a leadership role.
